00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:02.720
Hello everybody, welcome to the Fire Science Show.
00:00:02.879 --> 00:00:04.080
It's Christmas Eve.
00:00:04.320 --> 00:00:07.120
The Santa has not brought you any fire science today.
00:00:07.280 --> 00:00:15.039
I am here just to say I would love to wish you Merry Christmas and a great time with your families.
00:00:15.279 --> 00:00:21.920
Whether you are celebrating Christmas or not, I hope this is a time of joy and happiness for you.
00:00:22.239 --> 00:00:26.239
This has been some really difficult years for me professionally.
00:00:26.320 --> 00:00:29.359
It was probably the most challenging one ever.
00:00:29.519 --> 00:00:36.479
I found it the hard way that if you do a good job and you do a lot of it, you get awarded with even more.
00:00:36.719 --> 00:00:39.119
And kind of went overboard with that.
00:00:39.280 --> 00:00:41.200
So things are under control now.
00:00:41.280 --> 00:00:44.079
But gosh, this year was really, really tough.
00:00:44.240 --> 00:00:50.000
I hope the next years are enjoyable, but perhaps some less stressful than this one.
00:00:50.320 --> 00:01:02.960
I I wish that uh for you you also have a time for reflection and and thinking about what the next years should be, and I hope that you are in control to make them like uh you want them to be.
00:01:03.280 --> 00:01:07.040
I would like to thank you so much for being a part of the Fire Science channel.
00:01:07.120 --> 00:01:11.519
It's the best thing I'm actually doing this podcast wherever I travel, wherever I go.
00:01:11.680 --> 00:01:22.319
I meet fantastic people who tell me they're big fans of the podcast, and we discuss and we talk, and uh they seem to be inspired, moved, they seem to learn something from the podcast.
00:01:22.480 --> 00:01:25.120
They make me feel that the work that I am doing.
00:01:25.280 --> 00:01:29.200
It's important for community at large, for a broader group of fire safety engineers.
00:01:29.439 --> 00:01:35.519
And I am absolutely thrilled to have an impact like this on our discipline.
00:01:35.760 --> 00:01:46.879
It's only thanks to the fantastic guests that come here and are willing to share their uh their knowledge with me, their expertise with me and with you along the way.
00:01:47.200 --> 00:01:52.319
But uh, if you have not been listening, there would be no big point of making this show.
00:01:52.480 --> 00:02:00.159
So I am greatly greatly thankful for you after sticking up with the Fire Science show after so many years, after so many episodes.
00:02:00.319 --> 00:02:06.319
I would also like to express my highest gratitude to OFR consultants for being a partner for this show.
00:02:06.480 --> 00:02:08.159
Uh, for I have three years.
00:02:08.319 --> 00:02:11.680
This is incredible, three years of of partnership with OFR.
00:02:12.000 --> 00:02:17.919
Um next week we will celebrate the three years, and uh it's a good moment to revisit the uh episode.
00:02:18.000 --> 00:02:25.039
I believe it was episode 83 with Mark Spearpoint and Steve Wynne about why does consultancy invest in science?
00:02:25.280 --> 00:02:32.080
Because that that will tell you exactly why OFR and Fire Science show are such a great match to each other.
00:02:32.319 --> 00:02:36.800
And I hope we will move to more and more years of partnership with OFR.
00:02:36.960 --> 00:02:51.199
Actually, if you are desperate for fire science, there's one thing that Santa brought us for uh Christmas, and that's the report on open carpet fires, uh, structural resilience, fire spreading car parks, Monte Carlo modeling of fire spreading car parks.
00:02:51.360 --> 00:03:09.520
We have been at ITB a part of this report by modeling the potential for fire spread uh a bit from the Hibbled Bacel, and then uh OFR took it much, much further created a Monte Carlo simulator to actually simulate whether your fire can take the whole car park or not.
00:03:09.680 --> 00:03:10.800
It's a very interesting grid.
00:03:10.960 --> 00:03:12.560
I'll drop it in the show notes.
00:03:12.719 --> 00:03:17.039
So if you are desperate for fire science, there is still some fire science for you.
00:03:17.120 --> 00:03:20.240
I deliver it even what I didn't intend to.
00:03:20.319 --> 00:03:23.039
Uh I'm I'm happy that well, it is great that it's published.
00:03:23.199 --> 00:03:27.759
It's been uh one of the major projects this year that accounted for my stress.
00:03:27.919 --> 00:03:29.520
So I'm really glad it's out there.
00:03:29.759 --> 00:03:33.120
Anyway, that would be it for uh today's episode.
00:03:33.199 --> 00:03:34.719
I'm not even spinning an intro.
00:03:34.879 --> 00:03:41.680
I just wanted to say that I appreciate you and that I wish you some really good time in the next days.
00:03:41.919 --> 00:03:55.360
Um next week, I think it's New Year's Eve, but uh New Year's Eve, I think I will release a podcast episode, and that's gonna be something that some resistance this year, and perhaps some of the biggest fires or the the biggest fire this year.
00:03:55.520 --> 00:04:04.560
So um you are welcome to join me in that conversation next week, and in the new year, I am back with fire science episodes for you.
00:04:04.800 --> 00:04:10.240
A lot has been prepared, and lots of guests had been invited, some are already recorded and editing.
00:04:10.400 --> 00:04:15.120
So we are on a good track to start the next year with a strong opener.
00:04:15.680 --> 00:04:17.199
That's it for today.
00:04:17.519 --> 00:04:18.480
Merry Christmas.
00:04:18.639 --> 00:04:19.759
Happy New Year, everyone.
00:04:20.000 --> 00:04:20.399
Cheers.
00:04:20.560 --> 00:04:20.800
Bye.
00:00:00.160 --> 00:00:02.720
00:00:02.879 --> 00:00:04.080
00:00:04.320 --> 00:00:07.120
00:00:07.280 --> 00:00:15.039
00:00:15.279 --> 00:00:21.920
00:00:22.239 --> 00:00:26.239
00:00:26.320 --> 00:00:29.359
00:00:29.519 --> 00:00:36.479
00:00:36.719 --> 00:00:39.119
00:00:39.280 --> 00:00:41.200
00:00:41.280 --> 00:00:44.079
00:00:44.240 --> 00:00:50.000
00:00:50.320 --> 00:01:02.960
00:01:03.280 --> 00:01:07.040
00:01:07.120 --> 00:01:11.519
00:01:11.680 --> 00:01:22.319
00:01:22.480 --> 00:01:25.120
00:01:25.280 --> 00:01:29.200
00:01:29.439 --> 00:01:35.519
00:01:35.760 --> 00:01:46.879
00:01:47.200 --> 00:01:52.319
00:01:52.480 --> 00:02:00.159
00:02:00.319 --> 00:02:06.319
00:02:06.480 --> 00:02:08.159
00:02:08.319 --> 00:02:11.680
00:02:12.000 --> 00:02:17.919
00:02:18.000 --> 00:02:25.039
00:02:25.280 --> 00:02:32.080
00:02:32.319 --> 00:02:36.800
00:02:36.960 --> 00:02:51.199
00:02:51.360 --> 00:03:09.520
00:03:09.680 --> 00:03:10.800
00:03:10.960 --> 00:03:12.560
00:03:12.719 --> 00:03:17.039
00:03:17.120 --> 00:03:20.240
00:03:20.319 --> 00:03:23.039
00:03:23.199 --> 00:03:27.759
00:03:27.919 --> 00:03:29.520
00:03:29.759 --> 00:03:33.120
00:03:33.199 --> 00:03:34.719
00:03:34.879 --> 00:03:41.680
00:03:41.919 --> 00:03:55.360
00:03:55.520 --> 00:04:04.560
00:04:04.800 --> 00:04:10.240
00:04:10.400 --> 00:04:15.120
00:04:15.680 --> 00:04:17.199
00:04:17.519 --> 00:04:18.480
00:04:18.639 --> 00:04:19.759
00:04:20.000 --> 00:04:20.399
00:04:20.560 --> 00:04:20.800
